BACKGROUND

Definition/ Content: The state of the environment (political, historical, anthropological…) in which the architecture exists and it can be interpreted and revised.

Objective: The student must acquire the knowledge of how to interpret and update the construction system of the envirorment.
Most of the historical centers are protected from the respect of the traditional construction systems, based on a mimetic reproduction of these elements.
¿How can we interpret a roofing tile, or a stone façade, instead of making a copy?
